Interscope Geffen A&M

Interscope Geffen A&M

A recording label unit, founded in 1999 following the reincarnation of the Universal Music Group.
This umbrella unit was formed following the merger of MCA's Interscope and Geffen Records and PolyGram's A&M Records (which had since been folded following this).

Later in 1999, DGC Records was absorbed by Interscope/Geffen due to the merger, A&M reactivated under the unit in 2002, MCA Records was absorbed by Geffen in 2003 and DreamWorks Records was folded to Interscope in 2004, unifying artists from DGC, MCA and DreamWorks to IGA. In 2007, DGC relaunched as a subsidiary label and A&M was merged with Octone Records, recruiting both labels as A&M/Octone Records, and also making the latter label a division of IGA.

In 2013, A&M/Octone Records folded back to the unit, taking all of its artists to Interscope/Geffen. Today, former Fueled By Ramen CEO John Janick is the chairman and CEO of IGA (as of May 2014).

Overthrowing Republic Records and Def Jam Recordings as Universal's top labels, Interscope Geffen A&M succeeds with new artists, new opportunities and new ways.
